I've been thinking that my son may be on the autistic spectrum: experiences anxiety around change, struggles with peer relationships (although spears better with older children), struggles to recognise his emotions. Last night I was asking him if he thought he was different/ felt different to others, and he said yes, he thought others are robots! I was a little shocked to say the least. He's 11. I do suspect he could be 'masking' at school, due to his behaviour when he arrived home (withdraws, needs time to decompress).
I'm going to try to get an appointment with GP but just wanted to know if others had similar experiences with their dcs?
