Hi, does anyone know if you can have CAMHs removed from your medical records when you become an adult. My DD had a really bad time with bullies when she was 10 causing breakdown, selfharming, overdoses and dissociative disorder. She has had several goes with CAMHs, some more successful than others but since the age of 14 she has got her head round stuff and is now able to cope well with life, has made friends with only some social anxiety to deal with.

In september she was admitted to hospital with severe dizziness and inability to walk, seen by loads of doctors but remains undiagnosed as they cant find anything wrong. She has done really well as she has gone from wheelchair to mostly independent now but still is really tired and dizzy all the time. She feels that the doctors think its all in her head because all they ask about is stress(she is the least stressed she has ever been) and because of the mentions of CAMHs in her notes. She is terrified of being sent back to Camhs :(

Sorry for long post but once I started typing it all came out

I guess the doctors are thinking it’s psychological in basis as there’s no known medical basis. Doesn’t need to be stress to cause such a thing.

In our area there’s a service called paediatric psychology that would be the service which is separate to camhs.. the do medically unexplained conditions. Might be worth an assessment?

With such significant mental health history it’s important professionals know past as well as current. This can’t be removed from notes.
