My DC has been diagnosed with partial focal seizures - BECTS. However, given his symptoms and behaviours, I believe it is actually TLE, temporal lobe epilepsy with simple partial seizures.
Problem is these can manifest themselves in ways that look like a mental health issue - which he also has - too anxious to go to school, social phobia, not knowing who to talk to at school, not achieving academic potential (processing issues mean he's very slow at producing work).
Does anyone have a child with TLE and mental health issues - i am just so confused i can't tell what's what with him and I'm desperate to help him. He is going for an assessment with a psychologist on Tuesday.
