Loosing my child due to mental health issues, please help?

My son has been displaying traits of autism for a few years now he is 8 he was assessed by camhs and received a negative conclusion. From there we moved onto assessing ADHD within camhs which we also received a negative conclusion. My son is now refusing school and is violent to teachers when he does attend which hasn't been for a few months now, he is also violent to his parents and suffers meltdowns. This week my son was removed from my care due to his refusal to go to school and has now been placed with his father although I do get weekend access my son is still refusing school and I am terrified the next option will be an institution or foster parents. I am completely in shock about having my son removed from my care as the only issue is school although I know school is extremely important there is no issues of neglect or abuse or affection. I am asking anyone who has any experience in any of these issues with a child to offer any advice possible as I fear I will loose him to the care system if he doesn't start attending school. Any advice will be highly appreciated

I can offer advice but you will have to give more of an insight as to why he has been removed.

School refusal on its own would not necessarily result in removal.

What section was he removed under? I'm sorry but it's highly unlikely your child would be removed without any other risk of harm.

He was not fully removed from me the custody arrangement was changed to his dad having him during the week and me at weekends my sons behaviour is worse he's now refusing baths and his teeth brushed at his dads the reasons I put up for refusing school are true I also missed a few appointments but even that should not warrant this decision, my son is refusing school even worse now, I feel this is an injustice and don't know where to turn

From what you have written I suspect there is a lot more to it. What appointments did you miss and why?

This sounds very difficult. Parents of children who stop going to school usually have to attend a series of meetings, it sounds as if they are blaming you for his non attendance. Do you have a support worker? It may be useful to seek legal advice I think.

Children are not removed from their mothers because of school refusal. Neither are they placed in care for that reason.There is obviously a lot more to this story.

I also find it hard to believe a child would be removed from your care due to school refusal.
My house backs on to a school that takes children from 7 upwards with a range of issues and one of those is school refusal.
Have the LA not tried to work with you over this or are these the appointments that you haven't attended?

Was it suggested that ds went to live with his dad or has it been legally enforced?
I'm no expert but after reading a million similar threads on here over the years there is always more to the story.
