How to make a complaint to CAMHS

A teen we know well has been having a lot of problems and has been seeing a CAMHS counsellor in school for some time. This counsellor has broken confidentiality by speaking to the girl's tutor at length and in detail about her problems.

The girl would like to make a complaint against this counsellor, but it seems that the only way to do this is to get CAMHS' complaints procedure and a form, which can only be got through the school or through the counsellor.

Does anyone have a phone number for CAMHS? I cannot find one online.

It depends on your area. You could find the number on your local hospital website. Or just ring your local hospital and ask to be put through to CAMHS.

I have made a complaint to my CAMHS. You need to go onto the Trust that runs your service's website and find the contact details for their PALS equivalent team - I think it was called Customer Care or something at ours. I rang them, told them I had an issue with a member of staff in the X team and asked for the name of the team leader. I was able to resolve our issue by talking to him but I also received a letter saying I could escalate the issue if it hadn't been resolved to my satisfaction.
