my son is 31 months (2 year 7month) and he now attends toddlers nursery for two year olds I and his teachers have noticed his slow development with his speech (he will babble as if in conversation but can not speak proper words like mama or dada or bye-bye) he also has strange mood patterns he will be the most happiest child on the planet to a screaming fit the next for no apparent reason he walks on his tiptoes a lot and he will hit himself then laugh and he is very active he does not rest from getting up in a morning till its time to go to bed he is constantly moving from toy to toy with in minutes if not seconds he does sleep well at night I have no problems with bedtime or during the night but he can be challenging in the day time with his mood swings as you just don't know when to expect them any thoughts on the matter please

Take him to the doctor, tell the doctor what you suspect, and ask for a referral to caamhs.

Talk to your health visitor, I am in a similiar situation to you and my son has a hearing test coming up to rule that out and also is starting speech therapy soon.

Stay strong and know that the ball is now moving and he should start to receive the support he needs. Smile
