Too under weight for anti depressants?

I really don't want to push my child too hard, I'm just so pleased she's sought help, but she says our GP has told her she's too under weight for anti depressants and has been sent to her school councillor. This sounds wrong to me, help?

i'm almost certain that can't be the case... how old is she? i'm not sure what the rules are on being told stuff about your child and patient confidentiality and stuff

although you could of course speak to the GP and the school counsellor and say that you're concerned, you've heard she can't have AD's due to her weight, and is there anything you can do...
that way you give them a heads up on what she is telling you, without actually asking anything they are unable to tell you...

sounds really difficult :(

Yup, she's 17 so she's her own person. As of right now she's agreed for me to go with her to the GP this morning, so fingers crossed she still says that in an hours time!
