9week old baby not pooed in 24hrs+

Just that really my 9 week old baby usually poos regularily 3/4 times a day however I've seen no sign of poo since Sunday evening. He's still feeding regularily and doesn't seem overly upset or distressed.

Would you make a drs appointment? Should I worry?

Give it a few more days yet before ringing the doctor.It's honestly fine. Their poo frequency changes all the time. At this age their intestines are still working themselves out!

As long as he's not straining when poos eventually come, and they're not hard, it's fine

My 3 week old DS went 56 hours over the weekend. He is combi fed and usually goes once a day. I phoned my labour ward for advice and they were happy for him to go 4-5 days without a dirty nappy as long as he was still passing urine / feeding /settled etc.

They told me if he seemed distressed or his tummy went rigid to get him seen. I was v.v.happy to be changing that dirty nappy Sunday morning

Are they bf or ff. If bf then it's very common for them to not poo every day as the milk is so digestible. if ff then constipation is a bit more likely so do watch to see if there's any discomfort or straining

I've just realised I've posted this in the wrong place so double thanks to you all. I'm feeling very reassured that my instincts were right.

My DS used to go once a week (BF with top up formula at night). Would be a big event though and he needed a bit of coaching - best trick to get him going is cotton bud with Vaseline into the bum about an inch. Put nappy back and wait 10 mins. It's the bit of stimulation needed to get the bowels to open.
