Ds is off on school camp tomorrow until Friday he's been so excited the last few months. Now tonight he's been hyperventilating crying shaking because he doesn't want to go and will miss us. I've listened to his concerns and worries and think I've settled him but what to I do if he has an episode tomorrow before he gets on the coach I can't put him on there in a state like he's been this evening. Help!

Set a very chilled tone in the morning. Up in time and all organised so there's no stress. Make sure he eats. Remain chirpy and upbeat on way to school. Stick with whatever the school has put in place for communication during the trip - don't be tempted to make special arrangements. You have to be the judge of what will help him most in the morning - eg can you make sure you bump into his friends on the way to school so he doesn't have too much time to worry about missing you?

aw bless him
He'll probably feel much better about it in the morning
Maybe have a quiet word with his Teacher out of his earshot so he can be paired up with a suitable friend tomorrow
