Voices repeating DD's name in her head

This morning my 10yo DD told me that she sometimes hears voices saying her name over & over in her head. It can be very loud and upsetting and she can't make them stop. Usually she doesn't recognise the voices although today she said it sounded like her friends.
She is usually very happy, fun-loving & giggly but can also be quite sensitive & prone to fretting about things.
Has anyone had any experience of this with their own children? Don't know if this will pass or if I should consult GP (and risk making it into more of an issue than necessary)

Hiya, I'd nip to docs if it continues, but there are sites you can visit that give explanations, and there are quite a lot of reasons for hearing voices. this is useful good luck Smile

Sounds like it could be anxiety related. I have generalised anxiety disorder and OCD. I get the same word going through my head for days at a time but it is usually in my own voice. Sorry not sure thats of much use to you?

I think you're right about the anxiety lucjam - she does worry about things & need a lot of reassurance.
