For anyone who remembers or even gives a toss...I finally got my two Silkies!

Picked up two Silkies from the Wernlas farm, near Shrewsbury, yesterday.

Both between 18 and 20 weeks old. One blue (she's called Silver) and one gold (she's called Star).

They are possibly the sweetest, cutest, ditzy wee birds I've ever come across and they even have black, twinkly eyes!

They are do a cute little tweet-tweet.

Pictures on profile when I get a minute to download some.

That's fab - we chicken nerds actually went to a day trip to include Wernlas a couple of weeks ago!

Oh Bramble - maybe you saw my two in the chick shed!

I am jealous now.I wanted silkies but there were none to be had until July and I couldn't wait so I have a wyandotte,a leghorn and a bluebelle.

Did wonder that Doodle! I went about 4 weeks ago, so maybe they were 'growing on' in the field by then!

Well four weeks ago, the youngest they could have been is 14 weeks, so I suspect so. I loved the donkeys. One of them followed my 8 year old son every where - he was thrilled!

Sean let us hold chicks and we were allowed to take the dog around on a lead, which surprised me BUT after 5 minutes, it became blatantly obvious that whilst a few chickens in our back garden don't bother the dog, two fields worth was waaaaay too much excitement and we set the whole lot off squarking, so the dog went back in the car!
