Random GIANT eggs......why and will they stay giant now?

One of our chicken laid an absolultey MAHOOOOOOOOSIVE egg this morning.
I don't think I've ever seen anythinhg like it, not even shop bought.

Why is that?

and will it continue?

It's probably a double yolker - they may stay big, or they may stabilise once they get the hang of laying! I think the double yolkers are most common as they come into lay, then they settle down to 1 yolk.

I get them too M'Lady, seems to be every couple of weeks and always after she's had her day off.

I always think OUCH, that must have hurt.

Then it's my que to make courgette quiche, which requires an extra yolk.

It was adouble yolker, Ds2 had it for his lunch.

Its a bloody good thing we have these chicken because it'd cost me afortune in eggs otherwise
