Just over broodiness, now she's lost her tail!

Had a broody chicken and nothing could shake her from it, tried cold water, locking her out of the next box. So let nature take it's course and after two months, she's back to her old self and her comb is red again. However, we've been away for a week and had parents feed and let them out, etc, but came back and she has literally no tail feathers left! Just a little stump. Not bloody, and none of us have seen either of other two peck her, but clearly something's going on. Anyone else had this?

Ooh I had sometjing similar cakehead. My girl went broody, then got over it, but started to lose feathers - mainly around her vent. It stopped after a couple of days, so certainly not a moult, and she's recently been treated with ivermectin so not mites. No pecking going on either - she's second in command in the pecking order.

It's a mystery!

How odd. Just like mine. She's second in the pecking order out of three, and no mites either. And have seen no sign of bullying either. Hmm. She seems happy enough, just looks a bit stumpy! Not the prettiest chicken...

Poor girl. My girl is broody again (a repeat offender) so I will watch to see if the same thing happens.
