Eating disorder charity Beat has announced a new CPD-accredited virtual workshop focusing on the relationship between GLP-1 weight loss medications and eating disorders, bringing together leading experts from clinical practice, research, health policy and lived experience.
The discussion will take place online on 24 September 2026 (with the recording available to ticket holders for 2 months) and aims to help professionals and anyone interested navigate the opportunities and challenges these medications present. 📅
GLP-1 medications, which have become increasingly prominent in conversations about weight management, are raising important questions for clinicians and support services working with people who have, or may be at risk of developing, eating disorders.
Attendees will hear from specialists investigating the relationship between GLP-1 therapies and eating disorders, as well as researchers working in addiction science and pharmacy. Discussions will cover the latest evidence, future developments in the field and priorities for further study. 💊
The session is aimed primarily at healthcare and education professionals, although anyone interested in the topic or supporting someone with an eating disorder is welcome to attend. 🏥
As the use of GLP-1 medications continues to expand, Beat hopes the workshop will provide a vital forum for informed discussion, helping people develop a deeper understanding of how these treatments intersect with eating disorder prevention, care and recovery. 💜
Early bird tickets: £46 (ending soon!)
Standard tickets: £61
