Beware of Pacapod return policy

Bought 3 bags from them so I can choose which one I like (as I liked the sound of the pod system) and I had not realised that I need to pay for the return cost, which now comes to £9!
I understand they are a small company but this is way too much.
I will never again buy anything from them

Why should they pay when you had no intention of keeping 2 of the bags.

I'm with them.

MsSquiz · 26/02/2024 18:46

But is that not your fault for not checking the returns policy before you ordered?

idontlikealdi · 26/02/2024 18:51

That's on you. You'll have a rucksack a few months in anyway and wonder why you bothered at all.

SoupDragon · 26/02/2024 18:51

They are a small company and have to pay staff to deal with returns - receiving the package, unwrapping, checking it against the order, checking the item is clean and undamaged, putting it back in the right area in the stock room, arranging for the refund ...

large companies can cover this (not all do though!) but a small one can't.

Actually, are you just whinging about the return postage??

Sirzy · 26/02/2024 18:53

This is part of the reason why more and more companies are charging for returns. You can’t expect to have a selection sent to you to make your decision without paying for getting the ones you don’t want back!

purpledelicious · 26/02/2024 20:32

Haha I love how unempathetic mumsnetters can be! It's okay, I just wanted to warn people in case they make the same mistake as I did and not read the full T&C. Yes it's my fault.
I am also happy to pay something like £3 or £5 to help a small company but £9 seemed a bit too much (for me anyway!)
And yes, I am whinging about return postage, I have a right to whinge as it's my post and I am expressing myself :)
If anyone finds it helpful, be wary of the cost of returns xx

Why should they subsidise your indecision though?

BarbieDangerous · 26/02/2024 21:40

Rookie mistake OP, you ALWAYS have to check the return policy when buying things online.

Sports Direct charge £4.99 per return label so I just don’t buy from them anymore. £9 is steep though sheesh. You know to check the returns policy next time😆

TheTripThatWasnt · 26/02/2024 21:41

Putting to one side the processing of the return, there is a cost incurred in sending a parcel. If they didn't charge for returns then they'd have to build that in to the cost of the bag, so you'd end up paying more anyway.
