Nappy reccomendations for a new born (sizes 1 & 2)

Hi,

I have a 1 week old who is combi fed, pooing around the clock. Sometimes in one sitting I find myself changing his nappy 3 times because he's poo'd more while i'm changing him.
I've been using pampers nappies but its working out so expensive as we are flying through the packs. We've gone through 5+ packs already which has cost more than £30+ this week alone.

What am I doing wrong? I try and be patient before, during and after feeds and give him time to empty completely but sometimes it'll be nothing for ages (especially middle of the night) and then as soon as I change his nappy he's poo'd again.

Can anyone recommend any cheaper alternatives that they've used and worked really well? Are the store own brands any good? I'm looking for decent quality - especially absorption, and of course cost effective.

Aldi premium ones are brilliant. I used those and then pampers for night time.

Tesco’s own brand were the ones we always used. With one we used then in the day and pampers at night when they were bigger.

Asda’s little angels are good as well.

Always used lidl nappies with all of my kids. I hate Pampers and one of my kids came out in a rash every time she wore them. Lidl every time and have been using them on andnoff for 8 years, on different kids.

Tesco are great.

m you’re not doing anything wrong, this is just what newborns do. It slows down!
