So I had an automatic.
thought it was in drive and it reverse not sure what happened but went through the garage door. The garage is intact just not the door. And my car. So the back of my car has a smashed light, and red scuffs on the paint but this side is proper damaged.

spoke to insurance yestefsy they are accepting the claim, spoke today to the auto body fixers who have said my car is drivable and they will put quite together and send to age gas to get approval, order parts and then will get it in for repair.

die to go to Butlins as a family of 6 in few weeks so I’ll have to be done I imagine when we get back is what she said due to time to order parts. Anyways anyone used ageas? Are they quick at sorting it out. How quick are fix auto in doing the estimate and processing forward. She did say on the phone ageas will pay upto car value which for me is like £16000 so hopefully they will fix it. Luckily wing mirro etc all fine. I am presuming the back bumper will pop out and be re sprayed?

ageas have said the landlord can also claim back from them the cost is the garage door. Hopefully that will be quick too

That looks like a lot of work, several panels are involved.

I was rear ended twice in 3 months about 3 years ago, and my both times my car was in the body shop for about 3 weeks.

I’d say there’s a good chance they’ll replace that bumper. I’m not sure if they bother reskinning doors these days or if they just replace the whole door, either way there’s a fair bit of work there. Probably an £8k claim by the time all is said and done.

3 points shouldn't stop you from hiring a car.

You might get a courtesy car from the garage, but it might be tiny.

Thanks for all the help.
They have now decided to write the car off :( so somehow need to find a lease or finance company to help me with bad credit due to a completed Iva thanks tj my ex husbands and I am on Pip not working. But this finance was £380 a month so can’t see why that can’t be seen as a good thing I can afford xx

That’s actually quite surprising, I wonder if they value the car quite a bit lower and so the repairs constitute a higher percentage of that value. Do you know what the actual repair quote was? Have you asked them to repair it instead? Also, might be worth asking if they will consider a payment in lieu of repairs, then you get it repaired cheaper using second hand doors etc.

Something to do with this being bent and it has shunted part of the wheel thing forward so it’s now sitting at £12000 for repairs with I Lee way for if it needs more. He reckons it’ll be £14000 back from
insurers

That’s had a real proper bang! Hopefully the payout more than covers the outstanding finance. Make sure you take a look at some similar cars for sale to get a rough idea of the value.

I have just found out my settlement is £10989.

but I have gap insurance of return to invoice which was £15898 so even if they insurance just clear that I can claim 5000 back from gap insurance xx
