hia, i have just had a look, my boyfriend gets disability, i was wondering if he will get the 60 pound or if his carer will? thnks . xx

SparklyGothKat · 04/12/2008 12:57

I think that each person thats gets one of the benifits will get £60. I have 2 children on DLA and me and DH are carers so I think we will get 4x£60.

firsttimetobe · 04/12/2008 13:02

ok thts great, do u think thy will write around the time to each person letting them know? ta. x

SparklyGothKat · 04/12/2008 13:04

they normally write when we get our £10 xmas bonus so would imagine they will do.

firsttimetobe · 04/12/2008 13:06

ok, just 1 more question, ther was 20 pound extra in boyfriends bank, bt not had a statement, is this because the carers wasnt sorted by then, as the claim has been geting swaped from his mum to another carer, so no1 was caring at the 10pound time, so maybe thts y ther was 20 if thts were the money has come from? lol sorry. xx

SparklyGothKat · 04/12/2008 13:07

i wouldn't know sorry

firsttimetobe · 04/12/2008 13:09

ok no probs, il let him know about the 60 lol. x

firsttimetobe · 07/01/2009 18:47

any1 had theres yet? would it be payed on same day as u recieve your qualifying benefit? hope they write so i know when.

scarlettskye · 08/01/2009 13:41

hello firsttimetobe

not had any communication from dwp about it and not received anything as yet.
not sure if it's paid same day or not. think the usual £10 annual bonus is a one off so this might be too.

PeriodicalCicada · 08/01/2009 14:01

DWP employee here - we're not sending letters out as the admin is just too much, since the extra bonus was only agreed a few weeks ago. All payments should be made by the end of March, into the same place where your benefits go - but as a separate payment.

We're rolling out the pensioners' payments first, then Income Support, then DLA etc. I think.

glitteryb6 · 14/01/2009 20:53

Periodical....any idea if its the same sequence for the cold weather payments?

also do you qualify for the cold weather £25 thing if you are NOT on IS/JSA but DO have a disabled child premium Child Tax Credit that includes an individual element for a child or qualifying young person who is disabled or severely disabled

or is it only for those who have IS/JSA AND the disabled child tax credit??

the website description has lots of us on the special needs board confused!

this is very confusing! i know i will be getting the £60 payment as i get DLA for ds2 and carers allowance. i am also on income support so i am confused as to when i will get it.

miniandme · 27/01/2009 18:04

Has anyone had theirs yet?
We should get 2 lots ,one for ds who gets dla and one for ourselves as carers but still not received anything, wondered how they are working it out ,anyone any ideas?

CharleeinChains · 27/01/2009 18:10

DS gets higher rate DLA and i get carers allowence we both got the £10 xmas money so will we both get the £60 as well? im confused!

cherrymonster · 29/01/2009 12:26

so do i get two payments then?i get dla for ds2, and i get carers allowance for him.

bentneckwine1 · 17/02/2009 20:07

Just wondering if anyone who receives Carers Allowance has had their payment made yet?

ouchitreallyhurts · 19/02/2009 16:02

no, not yet.

bentneckwine1 · 19/02/2009 17:53

Thanks for that ouch, I will wait another while and see what happens. Got it spent in my head already!!!

ouchitreallyhurts · 23/02/2009 17:19

me too! something to still look forward to I guess
are you a j p chenet fan too by any chance?just guessing from your username!

bentneckwine1 · 24/02/2009 09:47

LOL Ouch!!

I am guessing you must be a fan also. I used to drink quite a lot of the wine that comes in a bent necked bottle and would write 'bentneckwine' on my shopping list to make sure my H brought back the correct wine!!
So it just kinda stuck.

doormat · 24/02/2009 09:55

wow a massive £60 one off payment for carers
considering how much we save the government I think it is lame
it is only an excuse to give us extra money, to boost the economy

sorry but really angry about all this crap that goes on with carers of disabled children, we get no help whatsoever whilst junkies, paedos and child batterers get more help than we do
sorry for the rant but very

ouchitreallyhurts · 24/02/2009 10:43

rant away doormat - I know what you mean!
I think carers rights are an insult in a lot of ways - 3 years ago I had to repay my maternity leave by returning to work for at least 3 months. I was a sister in the NHS and found a new job as a twilight district nurse for 3 short evenings - they stopped my carers benefit because I earned a few pennies too many each month but what a rock and hard place to be caught between? repay my maty pay or stop carers benefit. the most annoying thing was I was looking after mum all day and working evenings so she could be cared for by hubby so nothing changed from a caring perspective!!

and bent neck - love the stuff - keeps me 'sane' ha ha!!

miniandme · 25/02/2009 20:24

I called carers on monday after finding no extra yet again this month to be officaily told that carers extra £60 will be paid in march, if you received the extra £10 at christmas then you will receive the extra £60.If the £10 was included in your carers money then the £60 will be too,if it wasnt then the extra £60 will be being paid early march.
And yes those who get DLA will get an extra £60 too.

ouchitreallyhurts · 26/02/2009 09:28

thank you miniandme - that's great
