Help! Glasses won't stay on

My lovely mum struggles to keep her glasses on her face. She takes ages to manage putting them on and then they slip down her nose and fall off (mixture of hearing aids/tremors/weakness).

We keep going back to the opticians, who don't seem to have any suggestions apart from tightening them, but this doesn't work. We have tried the lightest plastic frames and rolling bands around the arms to try and 'stick' them to her temples more. No good.

Does anyone have any magical solutions? Thank you😀

Have you tried heating the legs in a mug of hot water and then bending the 'bend' VERY slightly more to give a bigger 'hook' over her ear and aids etc?
Sorry if thats obvious and you have tried already!

Some childrens glasses have a band that goes round the back of the head to prevent this, also sports frames might be worth looking at?

You can get silicone pieces that go on the ends of the arms that stop them slipping or try the rubber bands just behind the ears. Also there are sports straps but they're not very pretty.

You can buy stick-on nose pads that might help.
I’ve also seen someone mention that they bought these pads and cut a small piece off them to stick on the rear of the frame in the arm hinge, so that the arms can’t open as wide. I did a makeshift version of this (glued a bit of rubber band into the hinge gap) and it helped a lot.

The silicone sleeves which go over the arms really work (my elderly father uses them). Very cheap on amazon!

When my daughter first got glasses they came with little silicone 'hooks' that just slid onto the arms. These are £2.99 on Amazon.

If you search glasses strap - there are sports versions too, some are adjustable, maybe one with two straps for better positioning if it's hard for her to adjust?

Anchor Glasses Straps Sunglasses Strap Sports Safety Glasses Holder with Bonus Sunglass Carrying Case and Cloth https://amzn.eu/d/gksX5fr my mum uses these. It also means she can take her glasses off and they hang round her neck rather than getting put down and lost.
