Dwp carers allowance and universal credit

Hi all I have just been awarded carers allowance for the care of my mom who has had cancer on and off a few years so I received £906 in my bank yesterday was shocked at how quick it was done. But does anyone know if know next month when I get my universal credit will they take the £900 pounds off very worried as obviously it’s December and Christmas month and need to understand my money

Yes they will take it off. However, you should be able to claim the carers component of universal credit and if you put a note on your journal to say that you were awarded it this week with a claim date of ddmmyy, they should backdate the carer component, which is £168.61 per month. So you should get around £400 for that from UC, depending on whether you earn a wage.
