Carers allowance and training

I am currently in receipt of carers allowance. This month I've had to do a lot of online training for work. Because I will get paid for the training it now takes me over the threshold I can earn by £10. Do Carers allowance penalise for training? And will they stop my payments? Thanks in advance.

You can't go even 1p over. They can and will claim it back. Give them a ring, I've always found them really helpful.

Have you looked at the allowances you have, such as childcare, tax, NI, etc? Does it still take you over the threshold?

Will they claim all of it back or just the £10 extra.?

They take it all back .

So if you earn 5p over that month you lose the whole 240.

I have a variable hours contract and this is a problem as sometimss I work more to earn less overall!!

My friend manages to get some hours (training or otherwise) as voluntary to avoid this.
