Carers allowance and child tax credits

Hi could someone explain what will happen to my child tax credits now I get carers allowance? Will it go down or stay the same ?thanks in advance x

It normally goes up, and if you get income support that goes down, hope this helps :)

Sorry, that's not true. Carer's Allowance is classed as taxable income for the purposes of Tax Credits and needs to be declared as 'unearned income' at annual review time. Tax Credits often go up if the reason you're eligible for CA is because you have a child with a disability, because there is a premium for that.

I know I was wrong, I was actually basing it off of carer's allowance for a child I misread the title, I actually have no idea about elderly relatives, sorry about my useless comment OP Confused
