What are the hours/shifts like for you? How family friendly is it? Do you struggle with childcare?

I have done. The clients are lovely but office staff struggle to find people to do the unsociable hours do there is pressure and guilt tripping to go above and beyond.

So you if you only want to do set days, you will have to get used to saying no to helping out when they ask you. Expect lots of texts from management too.

I'm not speaking for all care providers, just the one I worked for!

I wouldn't expect set days but I would only want to work a certain number of hours.

Sorry this may be too late as i have only just found this thread
I currently work nights in a care home and im looking to leave the sector
PP is right there is a huge amount of guilt
tripping to do extra which i personally struggle with.
Some homes are wonderful but the job can be very physically and emotionally draining which i know your aware of.

As for it being family friendly there is only DH and I to care for our 2 DDs so for us it isnt family friendly much

Thats my two pennies worth but dont let it put you off with a good balance its a brilliant job
Good luck Smile
