Graco Car seat and Xsara Picasso

We have a Xsara Picasso and a Graco Car seat. According to the instructions the car seat can not go on one of the edge seats in the back but can go in the middle.

Does any one know why this is and would the purchase of a base rectify this (if it is to do with seat belt lengths etc)?

I would your your car and the car-seat to mothercare and ask them to check it can't find the instructions on line to see what they say. I have a c4 grand picasso and I have put my friends s logic car seat in all the all the middle row seats the belt was not long enough in the middle seat. The bases made it easier as the seat was then at the right angle

Thanks for that, I might get my OH to take me back to Babies'r'us and see if they can advise then.

I emailed Graco but they were no use at all!

what car seat is it? if it has a support leg that may be why they say it must go in the middle - on the floor you have 2 under floor storage boxes - in the event of an accident the leg suppost would puncture this and be of no use. HTH!

I have a xsara picasso and can't fit the Primo Viaggio base to the outside seat. I wonder if it's for the same reason. Anyone know?

I don't have the base yet, just a graco Junior seat.

I still haven't made it back to babies'r'us to find out more about this but might have the time this weekend.
