Seats in T-reg Almera

Any ideas for car seats which will fit in a T-reg Nissan Almera (think that is 1998)? My twin boys have a few months left in their present seats (which go up to 13kg), but I'm struggling to find a seat recommended to do them till at least 4 years old. The Britax website has a couple - but to fit 2 would mean one in the middle of the back seat and one in the front passenger seat. And the maxicosi fit finder on their website don't cover cars as old as mine.

The problem with this car seems to be "buckle-crunch" - can someone explain why this is bad?

I dont know about what seats will fit your car but thought i could explain 'buckle crunch'
This is where the buckle part of the seat belt is resting on the frame of the child seat (it should be the webbing only) This is dangerous as in an accident/colision the forses endured could cause the buckle to snap and therfore mean that the childseat is thrown through the car!!! Nasty thought i know but worth bearing in mind when choosing your seats.

We have 2 Maxi Cosi Rodi XRs in our S reg Almera - I havent noticed any buckle crunch and the children seem to find them very comfy.

how about two britax two way elites? i have one and it is a great seat. it is rf to 25kgs. www.incarsafetycentre.co.uk sell them. call and ask if they have fitted a seat in your car.

refresh my memory, what kind of buckle is it? Is it a cable or a piece of seat belt strap? If it's a strap buckle crunch is usually not an issue.

Best seat in these situation is usually Britax Hi-Way. The seat comes with an extra styrofoam piece which lifts seat up a bit more avoiding buckle crunch.

Thanks for the replies - I'll look into your suggestions (and feel a bit more relaxed in the hope there might be some good options out there).
