High Back Booster versus Booster Cushions.

I would just like to ask parents not to be tempted to put their children into booster cushions, even if they're 6-12 years old.
Please keep to the high back booster until your child is 12 or 4 foot 5, as this seat protects their heads and kidneys in a side impact crash, no matter how much your child detests it, any decent high back booster will adjust to the maximum legal height.

My DS is aged 9 and in a booster cushion seat, but he seems so high his head is almost touching the roof of the car. I can't imagine him even staying in this type of booster til the age of 12.

Hi hun, when he's above 4ft 5 he can move onto the adult seat, the law is either 4ft 5 or 12 years old xxx

If he meets the 5 step booster test and is over 135cm/4'5" or over 12 y/o he does not legally need a booster. However DoT recommends that children under 150cm/4'11" remain in a booster.
