Booster Seats??

I need to get a booster seat for my small 9yr old Dss when he visits.

Just wondering if there is one anyone would recommend or are they all much of a same?

is it a basic booster or a high backed one?

Ermmmm, Not sure. (It's all a minefield, Just got used of the different infant seats for my Ds, lol)

I was looking at basic boosters but of course if a High Backed one is safer for a 9yr old then I'll get one of those.

High backed booster is safer as will have a seat belt guide which holds belt in correct place

Halfords do some good basic ones

you would probably be best to take him to halfords to try some out.a high backed one is much safer as it offers side impact protection and keeps the belt in the correct place on his shoulder.a basic booster only lifts him so the belt is more effective,it doesnt give protection.
my 4yo and 5 yo are both in britax hi-liners which have been FAB seats.

Hiya

Take a look at the which website, there is a free to view crash test video on there which should answer a lot of your questions.

Personally I would reccomend a britax seat as the side impact protection on their boosters with backs (iyswim?) is excellent. Not all carseats are the same! You may have reservations fro your dss about using the safer seat, if so maybe show him the video / ask his school to have a carseat safety review.

Cool, Thank-you for all your help. Dss is a very placid boy so don't think we'll have any problems getting him to sit in a High Backed Booster.
