Cybex Pallas v Kiddy infinity/comfort

Has anyone got any of these?
Whats your experiences?
Is one better then the other?

DS still in Maxi cosi baby seat at mo, will keep him in as long as poss (only 9mth at present) so time for reserching!!

Would of gone rf but car seat is moved from car to car every day.

I have not tried the Kiddy Infinity/Comfort, but I have been into Mamas & Papas and tried out the Cybex - if there is one near you, it's worth a look. The one I went into was a small store but they had a mock-up car backseat to try carseats in.

The Cybex is like the Comfort Pro rather than the Infinity in that it goes to 11 years rather than 4 years. When I tried DS in it he didn't seem to like it and his legs seemed squashed, I was disappointed as I had set my heart on the Kiddy Infinity Pro (I still want this one as prefer the idea of separate car seat for each group) - but was told on here, that the Infinty has an adjustable cushion that they sit on, which would increase/decrease the amount of space for legs.

I have had the Kiddy Comfort Pro for DS2, aged 11 months, for a couple of months now. I read the product review of it on MN and then checked out their website. DS isn't always wild about the safety shield thing when he's being strapped in - I don't think he likes me having to lean over him - but once he's in the seat he is perfectly fine. The performance of the seat in safety tests clinched the deal for me. I also like the fact that he can be in his grobag and be put in his car seat which has been handy when we've been transferring him from car to cot at night.

There is a little cushion as part of the seat that he sits on now but once he's bigger that comes off and eventually the whole thing converts to a booster. TBH once he's big enough for a booster seat I expect we would just use the boring Britax ones, so I really bought the chair to last him until he's 4ish.

The seat looks really nice and plush. We got the red one and he seems really comfy in it. He sleeps well in the recline position and doesn't do the uncomfy and dangerous head flopping forward thing that I remember DS1 doing in his Britax. You do need to be careful that they sit high up enough in the seat when you put the shield in front of the them when you strap them in otherwise they tend to slide down a bit - but I think this was just in the first weeks of using it, as he's got bigger this hasn't been an issue at all. The seat is really easy to transfer from car to car. My CM, who has been in the job for 30 years, had never seen the Kiddy Comfort in use before and she thinks it's great.

During this cold weather DS has just worn a light fleece all in one, or a fairly light jacket in the car. It would be too hot if he was wearing a big coat and had the shield in front of him too, as well as the heating on in the car,

The seat was quite difficult to track down in local shops and in the end I ordered it from Amazon. I haven't got any reservations in recommending it.

sorry wellbalanced don't have these seats, have the britax twe. we have made it easy to install it rf in every car as we bought and extra set of straps for dps car and the gps bought a seat each for their cars so all we have to do is thread the seatbelt each time as the tether straps are already there so all we have to do is clip and tighten. this doesn't take any longer than any other seat to install now. was a pita when we had to fit the tether straps each time. hth a little.

We've been using the Cybex Pallas for a month with our 2-year-old and she's "escaped" by wriggling out 4 times, mid driving! Absolutely shocking! Mamas and Papas who we bought it from (also Cybex's representative) have been exremely disappointing and refuse to believe us because no one else has reported their toddler can escape from the seat. Has anyone had a similar problem?
(By the way, although fitting this car seat is very straightforward, we have been to our local council's in-car safety unit to make sure we do fit it correctly and we do.)

Any updates? Anyone else tried these? (I've just posted on an older thread before I came across this one, sorry).

We have a kiddy ?Comfort I think for DD - she's absolutely fine and loves it. Just debating whether to go for the same, or whether if the Cybex is just as safe, try to save a few pennies......

If the child is escaping the impact shield isn't on tight enough, however i'm trying to find some advice that says just HOW tight it should be. I normally do it so the child isn't going blue obviously, but so I cannot get my hand or fingers between tummy and shield.

Also, make sure on your Pallas that the impact shield is set at the smallest option as it does slide out to accommodate bigger children and that all slack in the seatbelt is pulled :) will continue to look for a 'tightness guide'

I personally don't like impact shield seats. There is too much of a risk in higher speed impacts so would get ERF just to be on the safer side. That's not to say their bad however, I do believe they are better than a harness - especially if moved between lots of cars!

Also! be careful the child isn't 'puffing' their stomach out, so when they breathe out the shield is loose!

we went and looked at both and sat the children in them - the kiddy felt much higher quality fabric and my 3 year old said was much more comfortable! We have been thrilled with them! :)

We have a Kiddy Infinity and love it. You do need to be very thorough about tightening the shield properly - I check it at each stage and then again when DS is strapped in, to make sure I can't even get my fingers behind it.

I saw a Cybex in someone's car just before buying the Kiddy seat and accosted them in Waitrose carpark to have a look - wasn't so keen tbh. Seemed a lot more plasticky.

A friend has a cybex Pallas for her dd (age 3.4 or something) and a kiddy infinity pro for her ds (age 18 months) and says the kiddy seat is loads lighter. This is great for her as she doesn't drive and has to move the seats in and out of other cars a lot when they're used.

I have an infinity pro and guardian pro and find them great how easy they are to fit and how light they are. I've never had a problem with dd getting out as I make sure the seat belt is very snug on her. I can't wriggle it forwards at all so there's no way she could. She's never complained when I pull it tight so she must be comfy enough.
