When to change car seats?

DS is 2 and quite tall. He is in the Maxi Cosi Priorifix at the moment and I think he'll be OK for a little while in it.

When should I change him to the next type of car seat? and what sort of carseat is best for a nearly 3yo?

My DD is 3 and is 109 cm - I have had to put her in the maxi cosi booster car seat thingy... the one with the adult belt, as she was just too tall for the maxi cosi tobi

check out the weight and height restrictions for individual products, I would highyl reccomend the entire maxi cosi brand

You really only want to change car seats when he exceeds the maximum weight limit for your seat, or his eyes are level with the back of the seat.

We have the Britax Kidfix, and are very pleased with it - gets a good Which rating too

thanks all. The Maxi Priorifix is meant to be OK til 4yo, but his forehead is already in line with the top of the seat, and he's already a metre tall a 2yo! (god knows how, me and DP are both midgets!)

I do like Maxi Cosi - especially like the isofix aspect.

thanks again
