Hi - I currently have a 4 year old who is in a Maxi Cosi Rodi XR high back booster and a 2 year old who is in a Maxi Cosi Tobi. however, my 2 year old is over 15kg so I am happy to put him in a hbb as well. I am having no. 3 in about 3 weeks (v late with this research I know!) and have a Maxi Cosi Cabrio for the baby. I have tried to fit all 3 in the back of the car (Audi A6 Avant) without success. I then thought the MC Rodi SPS was much narrower and found a Halfords with 2 in stock to try them out but still no success. Any help with combinations and how to do it would be gratefully received! I have a feeling I will have the baby in the front with me but we often go as a family away at w'ends (2 hr drives) and I don't fancy squeezing in the back seat!!

hi i have a britax two way elite rf (20 month old) behind the passenger seat, a maxi cosi priori sps (3 yo) in the middle and a maxi cosi cabrio (17 mo) behind the driver seat all in the back of a vw golf! you should keep the 2 yo in a 5 point harness for as long as possible as it's much safer. the maxi cosi rodi sps is the narrowest booster. hth

like nicm we've found it much easier to fit them all in with rearfacing group 1 seats

i definitely would not be putting a 2 year old in a highback booster

Thanks for this. I went to Halfords though and measured the Rodi SPS and it was 43cm across v 44cm for the Rodi XR - was I shown the wrong model? How wide is yours? Maybe the issue is the rise at the side of the seats to go over the wheel arch - does the Golf have that as I obvioulsy lose quite a bit of room with that..... thanks for the advice re: hbb for 2 year old. Will try not to do that. I have been told the Brio car seat is 38 cm wide so that is another option... as well as buying the multimac car seat.... just a mere £1500 but still cheaper than buying a new car! I'm also trying to work out NICM how you manage to have a 20 month old and a 17 month old!!!?

ha ha!! one is my ds and one is a mindee!! ;) i love seeing peoples faces when we're out and i tell them their ages but don't always say one's my mindee lol.

are you anywhere near the in car safety centre in either belfast or milton keynes? they could try out all the seats out for you. they did say at the time if i was to put all in ff seats it probably wouldn't work but our rf seat is a little more flexible and the base heights are different.

our rodi at the widest point is 43cm too.
