Do I really need the newborn insert in my car seat?

We've got a Bebe Confort Creatis car seat (The rear facing one, from newborn, clicks on to the Loola frame) which we used for ds. I've just washed all the lining material in preparation for dc2, and I can't find the newborn insert thingy that goes under their bum. Is it really necessary? Does anyone know how I can get a replacement one (the car seat is 2 years old) please?

hi not sure of the seat but it is probably so they are a bit flatter iykwim and not in a more upright position when they are newborn. maybe try contacting dorel who i think distribute them in the uk. good luck though, haven't found them that helpful in the past!!
