Looking for recommendations for low cost but safe infant car seats in UK

All infant car seats conforming to either ECE R44 or R129 are safe as long as they are used according to the instructions.

Multi stage ones might not get a great fit for a newborn, so you might need to be more careful with those.

You can save a significant amount by not buying a base and fitting the seat with seatbelt.
