Help! Does the seat belt go over the lap or under the child? First time mum here!

Depends on the seat! For an infant carrier usually above their lap. Can you google the brand/style name?

It’s a cosatto acorn. Struggling to find a picture with child in the chair without isofix :(

Hi @Maisy1507 for the Cosatto Acorn and any infant carrier, when fitting with the seatbelt, the lap part of the belt goes over the child's legs.

I have added a picture which shows a different car seat but it shows the normal position of a lap belt for an infant carrier. In the Acorn, the hooks that hold the belt at the sides are much bigger.

If it's the Acorn All-Stages seat you have, it can't be fitted with seatbelt unfortunately, only using isofix.
