Universal Adapter

Hi all,

We are expecting our second child and kept a lot of stuff from first time around. We still have the pram but not the car seat. We are looking to replace just the car seat but it appears that everything we previous bought has been discontinued!

We still have the multi-car seat adapters (see below) that we compatible with the maxi-cosi cabriofix at the time. Does anyone know if these adapters will work with the more modern seats such as the CabrioFix i-Size or Pebble S?

Obviously couldn't guarantee it for your specific adapters, but my niece uses my DD's icandy pram that's now 11 years old and used the adapters we bought originally for her baby's new maxi cosi car seat on the frame.

Also anything modern by Cybex, Besafe, Joie (not Juva), Nuna, Avionaut or Britax as well.

If you have the old documentation it will say specifically NOT Britax, but they changed their adapter type in I think 2023 - all of their current models use that type now.

FWIW the Cabriofix i-size is not as good, IMO, as the old Cabriofix. It's limited to 75cm whereas the old version lasted for ages, I used to know people who were still using them with a 2yo occasionally. It is still a nice seat, comfy, safe, cheap and light but it's not decades ahead of the competition the way the Cabriofix was. The Pebble S is probably the closest Maxi Cosi seat to the old Cabriofix/Pebble series.

Cybex Cloud G is a good option if you want long lasting and cheap. Avionaut Cosmo is also worth looking at if you want light and easy to fit with a seatbelt.
