Car seat comfort and tips?

Hello all!

I have a 1 month old who appears to have mixed feelings about being in the car seat and journeys to and from places.

Once I know they've been changed, fed and winded they tend to doze off and I put them in the car seat. But halfway through the journey (10-15 mins) They tend to wake up crying.

As of today we gave them their very first dummy sanitised and ready to go. They happily took it and fell asleep, but I'm worried that it could be masking something that could actually be wrong such as if they're comfortable enough or if they're still windy, hungry or need another nappy change. Sometimes we don't have the option to stop and tend to them and I feel awful when they cry to the point they become tried and fall asleep because of how upset they get.

Any tips or advice to make car journeys more comfortable for baby would be appreciated.

If my DD was still windy, hungry or uncomfortable, she would soon let me know, OP, and a dummy wouldm't cut it! She would just spit it out and start crying again. So if your little one happily took the dummy, I think they were probably not so uncomfortable that wouldn't be able to manage for a short while.

TBH I think at that age they often just don't like being in the car because it's a bit strange and they would prefer to be cuddled, but they are too young to explain about seatbelts, safety etc.

Does somebody tend to sit in the back with her or is she on her own (which is unavoidable for lots of people).

Which seat do you have? Do you feel she looks comfy and well supported in the seat? Do you still have it on the lowest setting, and do you know how to adjust it?
