Fiat 500x rear facing seats

I own a Fiat 500X and currently have a Cybex Cloud on spinny base, hoping to keep passenger seat in same place when we swap seats.
Definitely looking at the Avionaut Sky, but also wondering if anyone has an Axkid mini/movekid seat in this car, and a 5'9 passenger in front of it?
Thanks!

I haven't, but do you have any car seat people near you where you can try the seats in your car? Our local lady lets you try them then will order whatever it is you pick.

A couple of pictures of the Minikid in a Fiat 500 here :)

The Klippan seat mentioned is no longer available but there are some newer ones. I think the In Car Safety Centre is the only UK dealer for these but you can also order directly from carseat.se

You Can’t Rear Face in Small Cars – Debunking Myths #4

The blanket statement that you can not fit an ERF seat in small cars, is dead wrong. Don’t believe me? Well, I’m going to prove it to you. ;)

I'm in Kent, there isn't much choice in our area at all sadly

I would review latest reviews before making a decision. Some of the front facing high backed boosters from cybex and Britax have almost the same safety ratings as Axkid (1.7 vs 1.5). I asked why and all the manufacturers I spoke to (including Axkid) said front facing with a seat belt can be safer than rear facing for the tallest children and parents need to stay on top of height measurements. Axkid recommended I measure weekly 😩

I'm pretty sure rear facing toddlers is based in SE London and will cover some of Kent for a home visit - I believe she brings the seats to you to try in your car.

This may be true but if OP is looking to move on from a Cloud then a HBB with a seat belt won't be an option for a few more years yet.

BertieBotts · 29/10/2024 22:51

It's not really that it's safer, it's just that ADAC use different criteria to test seats in different categories.

But yes while a high back booster is a perfectly safe option for a 7 year old, it's not safe at all for a one year old, no matter the safety rating.

Baby lady in Canterbury maybe? She doesn't have Avionaut but does have axkid.
