Lightweight isofix group 1 seat?

Can anyone recommend a lightweight isofix rear facing group 1 car seat please? The internet isn’t revealing much!

MIL has a Joie Tilt in her car for our almost 1 year old, however, she has to remove it out frequently due to driving the other grandchildren and using their seats, she is now finding the belt fitting of the tilt awkward compared to the other seats she uses. (which are all isofix.)

She has said she’d like another isofix seat to reduce the faff but has a muscle Condition that means the heavier, bulkier seats would cause her pain.

Am I hunting for a golden goose?

Thanks.

Well, it depends how much gold you fancy shelling out TBH.

There are some lighter isofix seats but they aren't cheap. Axkid One2 is probably the best deal at the moment because it's on offer, but it's still over £400.

You also have Joie i-Prodigi and Tinyseats (1 or 2).

Or perhaps she would find one with a base easier? They go in as two parts but then each part isn't so heavy. The cheapest base + seat seat in the UK at the moment is Graco Isofamily with the SnugGo seat. (There is, weirdly, a plus tested version of this but it's only available in mainland Europe and difficult to get hold of in the UK - Graco Ascend.)

Or what about another solution altogether, if everyone would be happy to club together, she could get something like Joie i-Spin XL or Silver Cross Motion All Size - and keep it in permanently but just adjust the mode for each grandchild? I assume that the problem is the other children are older and just use high back boosters or forward facing seats but you don't want this for LO yet (quite rightly).

The only issue would be if any of the GC are higher centile and need the 5 point harness past 105cm.

@BertieBotts I think you’re my new hero! Thank you so much for the information you’ve given, way more in depth than my googling!

You’re correct in that the other collected children are using high back boosters or forward facing; we’re an ERF household so have a full range of Britax seats that are heavy and unsuitable.

I like the look of the Axkid so will have a chat with MIL.

Many thanks!

OK great! I messed up the Graco seat and base combo - if you end up looking at that, double check the compatibility. But a lot of people love the Axkid One seats.
