High back booster - tall 9 year old???

I prefer to keep my tall nine-year-old in a high-back baster but it seems we don’t have any options. His Britax that he is in the moment just about fits him but it’s about to break.

He is 146 cm tall and 38 kg.

i’d prefer the high-back booster for the side impact protection, especially as I understand that children’s skeletons are more susceptible to injury up until the age of 11/12

The only one taller than the Britax that I know of is the Avionaut Maxspace. One of the sellers on one of the car seat FB groups posted this picture of her self sitting in it (I apologise I have forgotten her name) she wrote that she is 178cm tall.

A different point of view -

Does your car have curtain airbags in the back? At 146cm it is quite likely that he will be within the area of effect of these airbags which generally means that the headrest of the high back booster is less important. It is also likely that the diagonal belt will fit his shoulder correctly with a backless booster if you choose to go for that type. For older children of this height, a backless booster is much less of a problem than it is for young children under 7/125cm.

You could also consider having him sit in the middle so that he is furthest away from any point of impact.
