Hi I am looking for advice if my child is strapped correctly in her car seat. I have heard of the group on Facebook but I don't have Facebook to ask on there.

My girl is 5 months old and lately she's leaning her head forward and looking around, she has good head control but I panic incase I drive over something bumpy whilst her head isn't back.

I have lifted the headrest slightly, does this look ok or does it look like I need to adjust things a bit more? I do struggle getting the straps across her thighs, I find they sometimes are pushing into her belly

Thanks :)

It looks totally fine. Secure and comfortable. Loosen the straps around her thighs if they are too tight. You may also want to remove the tickets on the item.

Have you taken out the wedge shaped cushion behind her back? I'd say you could remove the head pad as it looks quite tight around her ears which is probably why she's leaning forward.

Thanks so much, didn't even realise I hadn't removed that, will do it now :)

I have kept the wedge in but will remove the head pad now, thank you :)

This all looks good :) The head part is also fine to stay in if she's comfy with it. But it's only strictly needed for younger babies who don't have head control (up to around 3-4 months) so I agree with a previous poster saying you can take this piece off if you like.

Keeping the wedge and body insert in is perfect for her age.

The straps are not too tight and should be snug for safety. This is a great video about the insert in this seat:

Also, don't worry about driving over something bumpy. At her age she can manage a few bumps and she is probably lifting her head to look around, which is totally age appropriate. She's very well strapped in and protected here.

I assume you know this but the important thing to protect her neck and head is to keep the car seat rear facing. Up to 15 months this is required by law, but this seat can stay rear facing much longer and would totally recommend doing that.
