Oyster 2 multi car seat adapter vs maxi cosi compatibility.

hi, looking for someone who may know the answer to my question;

I currently have the cabrio fix r44 car seat and the oyster 2 pram with the multi car seat adapters however I was looking to upgrade to either the cabrio fix I size or the rock however unsure weather either of theses are compatible with the oyster 2 pram. I cannot find any information online as everything is about the new oyster 3 which quite frankly I cannot and do not want to afford lol.

the reasons I ask about the new cabrio fix as wasn't sure if they were any different to the old ones other than the new safety standards.

thank you in advanced.

Yes all the Maxi Cosi attachments for the pram adapters are the same, so it will work fine if it says it is compatible with the older Maxi Cosi seats.

You can also go for another brand - Britax, Cybex, Besafe and Avionaut are all popular and compatible with the same ones. The newer Maxi Cosi seats are much smaller in capacity than the R44 Cabriofix. If your Cabriofix is under 10 years old and still in good nick, then you could also just reuse it.

Does this mean the maxi cosi rock car seat will fit? I read somwhere that only the pebbles and cabrio fix are compatible with the adapter.

The issue with other brands is that we have a sports type car and struggle to find car seats that fit without having the front passenger seat all the way forward so id rather stick to what i know works if that makes sense.

Yes it will. What happens is that the companies (like Oyster) only buy the most popular car seat models in to officially approve with their prams and the models which are less popular or are only out for a short time or are newer than the pram release don't get tested, but across brands they are often exactly the same so there's no reason that (e.g.) the Rock wouldn't fit if the Pebble does as they are very similar seats with slightly different inserts.

I am not sure if the newer maxi cosi seats are the same in length compared with the old one. It might be best to go somewhere which stocks the seats and get a physical check before you buy. You could even take the pram with you if you want. If you have sloped seats, you might also find the angle is too steep so it would be a good idea to look at seats which can counteract a slope. Britax, Joie and Besafe have this. John Lewis tend to be good if you need a chain but I would go onto Maxi Cosi's website and look for stockists and see if you can find an independent store near you as they often have better training and more time.
