Britax Max Safe Pro tethers not tight

I've just got a new car and I'm really struggling to get the tether straps of the Max Safe Pro to tighten! I've had no problems with my old car but they just won't do it now and I have no idea why! Any suggestions? Thank you.

Have you sought advice from your retailer? I would do this if possible, with photos of the setup.

Just incase anyone comes across this post and is having the same problem (ive already talked to OP on another thread)
When this is an issue i've found that if you move your front seat as far forward as possible and then tip it as far forward as you can. You can get to the straps to tighten them and to pull the back of the car seat much easier by going in through the front door behind the front seat rather than trying to work from the side of the car seat.
