Cloud T owners - help!

Hi, I am pregnant with my first baby, I am considering getting the cloud T. It states it should last around 24 months. If you have owned it when did you have to size up?

This is one of, if not the longest lasting infant carrier out there currently.

When it's actually outgrown depends on the individual baby, but most people want to size up before the seat is actually outgrown, because after you get to a certain weight the seat gets really unwieldy to carry around. I do think that this one is better than some others for that though because of the rotating base - you can just keep it in the car and rotate it, while retaining the option to carry the whole seat with the baby/toddler in it. It's just that their legs hang out of the end and it gets very heavy when you have 5kg of car seat plus 10kg+ of baby. It's not too bad if you have a compatible pushchair and you only have to click it onto the frame.

The other reason people change to the next stage of car seat is because the baby ones are very reclined and sit quite low down in the car, and once babies can sit up confidently on their own they tend to be a bit fed up with being so low down and in a reclined position.

That's not to say you can't use it up to 2 years or longer, because if a 2yo can physically fit into it (and some 2yos at least on the younger end would) then it's perfectly safe and at that age they wouldn't necessarily know what they are missing. I did use an infant carrier up to 18m with my first baby.

Looking at comments in the car seat FB groups, most people seem to find this seat lasts to about 18-24 months.

This is an older version, but the current one is v similar at least in size, showing a 17mo toddler in it - this isn't the highest position for the headrest either.

If you have a chance to see one in person and measure it with the headrest in the highest position, bum to the bottom of the headrest would be the best measurement. For reference my fairly average sized 2.5yo has his car seat set at 34cm bum to shoulder.

We have the Cloud Z, which is pretty much the same thing.

It very much depends on the size and height of your child. DS was very average in terms of size and height, and we moved up to the Sirona when he was 19 months. Whilst he did still fit, it was a bit snug by that point but if your child is on the smaller side, I can see it lasting up to 24 months.

Cloud T is very new, you'll only really find kids old enough model above (cloud z). We have one with our 4mo and going strong. He's big, newborn insert didn't last very long as only until 60cm, but despite being in 6-9 month clothes the headrest is still at pretty much lowest position. Getting to the point where I want to leave it in the car as its bloody heavy when you have a 7kg baby in it! But then again I think all would be the same 😅 The people at shop we looked at them in said says until 2 but they imagine people will start moving them out around 18 months.

If you have a 6lb girl you'll likely have closer to 2 years. If like me you have an over 9lb boy then probably less 😅

Thank you everyone so much! My baby isn’t due until September but I think this has convinced me to go with the car seat! I was hoping to get one a year with it. I never thought it would actually last 2 years but if u get 18 months I would be more than happy. I’m looking at a Venicci pram which this car seat can be used with.
