We are expecting our 3rd child in August so we have a bit of time for this. We are starting to look at cars and the more I look the more confused I get. Do we go for a 7 seater where I find the boot is small and will it fit a double buggy in or a 5 seater car with 3 car seats across the back. Then it's what cars fit 3 seats across the back. Looking to find out what other parents do with 3 kids and what they have found works. Come August my kids will be 5, 1 and newborn.

We found they are most often the same thing - a 5-seater with 3 full sized seats across the back, and two pop up, or removable seats in the very back. When these seats aren't in place the boot is huge. So works really well for all the bumf you need when they are toddlers and then later on when they might have friends around etc, you have the option for spare seats.

We have Peugeot 5008 and we also tried out the Citroen Berlingo (also has another few names - Vauxhall Combo and I can't remember the other one).

Previous to this we had Peugeot 3008 which was also fine with 3 but a bit of a squeeze. It has a third isofix point in the front, but my eldest is a teenager and doesn't need a car seat. It was just a bit too cramped with all of us.

With the Peugeot 5008 do you have 3 car seats across the middle? Could I ask the brand of car seats. I'm an worried about getting a car and then the car seats not fitting and to buy new seats

We don't as only two of our three children need car seats. You could definitely fit three side by side though.

If you drive to a dealership when your children are at school they will usually let you try your own seats out in different cars.
