Leaving car seat in car

Hi this may be a silly question but has anyone had any problems leaving the car seat in the car? My mom is convinced if I leave the seat in there it will get moldy? - I reasoned that surely my actual seats would be moldy if that was the case but she's put doubt in my mind now. My car does have a couple of condensation problems due to being an old car - the windshield was soaked the other day on the inside. It's a new car seat a stage up from the last one so ideally it's a bit too big and bulky to keep moving in and out of car. Plus it would have to stay in there all day when I'm back at work so just wanted to know whether anyone has had any issues with car seats getting moldy when left in car and if so any tips to prevent this? Thanks

I have heard of car seats going mouldy when kept inside the car - it happened to a few people in the first lockdown when they hadn't driven the car regularly.

If the car gets condensation on the inside it might be an issue.

I'm not sure realistically what you can do about this though - it's one thing to bring the baby seat inside each time (we tended to do this anyway) but once they go into the toddler stage, the seats are too big and heavy to move around, people normally leave them installed.
