Help with Britax Kidfix

Hi

After any help from people who also have the Kidfix I-size. Just purchased and installed and the back doesn't seem to click in place i.e. if my DD leans forward it moves with her. Surely this isn't right is it?

Hello! That's normal with all high backed booster seats. If it's the first one you've had it is a bit surprising compared to how solid the seats for younger children are. Basically it's so that the seat can conform to the backrest of any car, as they are all slightly different angles. A high backed booster is really just what we call a pre crash belt positioner. The seatbelt is still doing the heavy lifting in terms of safety and restraint.

Your DD should be sitting up straight ideally when in the seat and not leaning forward. If she's leaning forward a lot it might just be the initial novelty of having more freedom or you might wish to consider whether she's actually ready for a high backed booster or would do better to continue in a harnessed seat.

Some of the newer Britax boosters are known to have an issue where the headrest height adjustment is easily broken, I understand they're working on improvements to this. That might already be in place in the newer models on sale.

Thanks, it was only because she leant forward to take something out of my hand (we were stationary) and I noticed! Otherwise she sits well in the seat Grin

Thanks for the reassurance thought I was either doing something wrong or had broken it!
