Wobbly Britax Romer dualfix plus

We've just installed this seat in our Skoda Scala (checked it's compatible). If we fit the floor support correctly so the indicator is green, the seat lifts up off the car seat. If we fit it properly against the car seat, we can see some red on the indicator on the floor support. Any ideas where we're going wrong?

Also, the seat seems really wobbly. I've noticed this too in my dad's car with an older version of the same seat. Is it normal?

Sorry, I know it's hard to help without actually seeing it!

Have you adjusted the anti-rebound board? This needs to be tensioned properly against the backrest of the seat. That will probably solve the wobbling issue.

Secondly is the support leg properly clicked out, extended to 90 degrees from the base? Sometimes if you haven't fully clicked it out it won't quite engage correctly.

There will be several length settings for the leg. You want the shortest length that will allow the indicator to be green. If it's half red half green, it might be that it's resting on the edge of the seat and that is taking the weight of the seat, not the support leg, and in this case you want it one click up. It is OK if you can slide a piece of paper or something between the vehicle seat and child seat, but there shouldn't be a huge floating gap for this seat.

You will get a little movement with an isofix seat but it shouldn't be hugely wobbly, especially if you've done all three steps - pushed the seat in on the isofix arms so it's close to the backrest, extended the leg correctly, adjusted the anti-rebound bar.

These videos are always really good and a bit more detailed than the official fitting videos, showing each step in detail rather than briefly, with some tips.

If it's not this exact model, it will be very similar.
