Travel car seat for 2yo

Does anyone have any recommendations for a travel car seat that would be suitable for a just turned 2 year old?

Was going to buy a Maxi Cosi Nomad but it’s out of stock everywhere - appears to have been discontinued.

Don't have a car as live in a city, so am pretty clueless about car seats. Will need to use the car seat for transfers to and from the airport. Have also hired a car for one week out of a 3 week multi-centre trip. Due to the nature of our trip I think we need to take a car seat with us rather than hiring one.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations or advice

Are you going to have to carry it around for any length of time? The Joie/Graco ones are usually good, but nothing is properly compact for this age group except for the ones like the Nomad. There are a couple of others like this but they are really expensive.

With cheaper seats it's worth rear facing for safety if you can. Cozy n Safe Fitzroy is also worth a look as it is cheap and can rear face up to 13kg. You do have to double check the fitting is secure as I have one and the belt gets a bit stuck inside it so it can be loose and you might not realise.

Amazon have stock of the Nomad. But if you aren't going to have to carry the seat, there are options which have better safety for a similar price, for example the Maxi Cosi Axiss which is the second result on amazon.

Rear facing would be safest but if you want forward facing, it's better to go for something a bit more substantial unless you really really need the portability.

Many thanks @BertieBotts I’ll look into those options tonight. Appreciate your advice, thank you
