Reccommendations for slim rear facing seat please!

Hello! We've just bought a van (with the idea of converting it to a campervan). We plan to rip everything out except the 3 front seats (a single driver seat and bench seat for x2). In order for that to work we would need to find a slim car seat, with seatbelt attachment, that is rear facing (LO is only 16 months, and we want to rear face until at least 4 if possible) - slim enough so someone can squish next to it!

Anyone have an idea for something that will work? I can find lots of recommendations for when you need to fit 3 seats in 1 car (and have isofix) but nothing for this.

Thanks all!

Axkid Minikid/Move tend to be better for this :) They are fairly narrow at the base, which allows an adult to sit next to it quite comfortably.

They are belt fitted. Should fit from approx 12 months to 7 years. You will need to check your bench seats are properly approved for safety regs etc though, and you'll need two solid fixed points in front of the seat or something like a solid bar under the seat, to attach the tether straps - if you can find an Axkid specialist I think they know what you need to look for: https://axkid.com/uk/find-a-retailer-near-you/

If the wings are too wide to see the mirror properly you can apparently get a towing attachment which extends the mirror. Otherwise, you could see if you can get hold of a Britax Two Way Elite, but they're hard to find now as they have been discontinued.

If DC is fairly small for age you could look at a Joie Steadi or Graco Extend R129.

Bear in mind that to fit a rear facing seat you'll need to disable any airbags which means that the adult passenger will be without one.

Britax twe however it does need a seat in front of it to be proped up. If you have a free standing space then an axkid is a great option. All depends on budget

Thank you both - will look into those. No budget really - would choose safety > width > price in that order :)

Diono Radian 5, or the 3R version.
