3 Kids in an Audi Q3

Does anyone know if it is possible to get 3 children under 5 in an Audi Q3? Maybe one in the front with the airbag turned off? Or has anyone got any affordable suggestions for a bigger car?

Thanks 🙂

It doesn't look impossibly tiny. You might be able to do it.

If you want to fit three car seats in, first thing to do is check the manual to see whether it says you're allowed to fit a seat in the centre and any restrictions (e.g. you often have to avoid support legs in the middle seat).

Second thing is look at what seats you have at the moment and whether any of them are particularly bulky, in which case it might be worth replacing that one. If you can tell me what seats you have now then I could have a rough guess.

After that it's literally just about the shapes of the seats and getting them to fit together. It looks like the back seats in this car can be moved back and forward - that can often help. It can sometimes be the case that you can fit car seats in the combination ABC but not CBA or BCA or something, so it's worth swapping them around and trying them out.

You often get more play in belt fitted seats rather than isofix ones. Often the isofix points are positioned more towards the centre of the car which reduces space in the middle seat.

Info about the ages/weights of the children and what type of car seat they're in now would also be useful (rear facing/forward facing harness/high backed booster)

Thanks so much for your detailed response. We currently have two Joie seats one is the 360 spin on an isofix base which is for our 20 month old and the other doesn't have isofix for our 4 yr old which has a 5 point harness but can also be used with just the seatbelt. So might be worth having a play around to see if it can be done.

I have an RS Q3 and we can’t get 3 car seats across the back…not sure if the RS is more compact, but if I ever have 3 children in the car, one has to sit in the front.

No idea about Audis but I had three car seats in the back of a Nissan Leaf. I drove to Halfords and luckily got a chap who had recently worked out how to get 3 seats in a similar car. No isofix though.
