Hi there!
I have the above car seat and have been using it since my son was little and tiny.

He’s now over 6 months and the instructions say to take the newborn insert out once over 9kg. He’s just under this and was starting to look a bit cramped so I have removed the insert and cushion.

he Fell asleep today when I was driving and just looked like he’d completely flopped, I panicked and pulled over (safely) as I was worried he was occluding his airway, he wasn’t he was just fast asleep and appeared comfortable it just looked like a completely unnatural/uncomfortable position for him to be in from what I could see in the mirror.

we’ve checked that the car seat is properly in and in the right position etc and it is just doesn’t seem to be very supportive for him - just wondering if anyone else has found this issue with the seats as it’s giving me really bad anxiety that it’s going to hurt his neck long term.

he seems fine in it when he’s awake and sat up just if he falls asleep he flops even when the straps are correctly in place etc..

I would put the insert back in, those guidelines are normally a minimum not a hard rule. He might do a bit better in the seat when he's a little bit older.

It is a common issue with isofix seats that the angle can end up being too steep depending on the slope in the seats in your car.
